Fwd: August 2026 :: London

Left a crew at home: Kirsten, Matthew, Joelle, Lou, Dee, Viv & Jeff.
Delicious food in the lounge at SeaTac. Virgin Atlantic not as fabulous as our previous flight. We found a good train to the city but it was a huge walk to the Chesterfield Mayfair for 2 jet lagged people with 4 pieces of luggage but we’re badass and we did it. Hotel was as lovely as I remember and Jerry bargained with the desk clerk for a room upgrade. We had the nicest fish & chips for dinner. The hostess was Polish so I gave her a copy of The Drifter in Polish.

Jerry got a shirt at Simon Carter and a sweater, socks, and tie at Selfridge’s (Paul Smith). The area was overrun by Arab billionaire women shopping aggressively. Someone said they go to London to escape the August heat in the Middle East.

We loved the drinks at Mr Fogg’s Apothecary. There’s a sign in the ladies’ room alerting women to “Ask for Angela” if they feel unsafe. A+ tasting menu at HIDE.
